2025 SPORTS CALENDAR

 

YOUTH BASKETBALL

YMCA utilizes volunteer coaches to focus on participation and fun! While basic skills of the game are developed through practices and games, every child learns sportsmanship and values necessary to be successful in life. Every game begins with a Youth Sports Pledge and ends with a handshake.

The YMCA Youth Sports Program helps kids become not only become better players, but better people as well. It’s a progressive program, with multiple age-specific levels. Every child gets to play and the games are safe, exciting and fun. We encourage fair play, positive competition, and family involvement.

 

YMCA Youth Basketball Divisions: Recreational vs. PLUS

Recreational Division: Perfect for new teams or player pool teams, this division focuses on learning the basics of basketball in a fun and supportive environment. It’s all about developing skills, teamwork, and a love for the game without the pressure of competition.

PLUS Division: Taking the place of last year’s competitive division, the PLUS Division is designed for mostly pre-formed teams that are ready to push each other to new heights. This division emphasizes advanced skills, strategy, and a higher level of competition, aiming to help players reach their peak performance in youth basketball.

Coaches Meetings

All Coaches and Assistant Coaches must attend at least 1 meeting.

Meetings will be held at 5:30pm in the Dillard Early Learning & Youth Academy cafeteria.
