If you are an Active Older Adult, the YMCA of Wichita Falls has exactly the type of programs and events that you have been searching for. From fitness to family and community, we have something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.

 

Our Active Older Adults Classes concentrate on improving strength and flexibility so daily living activities become easier. It’s a fun way for people ages 55+ to stay in shape and increase social interaction. Our goal is to engage members and help keep them motivated to improve their own health and well-being. Classes are welcome to both SilverSneakers and YMCA Members.

SilverSneakers® Fitness Program for Active Older Adults

What can regular exercise do for you?

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Class Descriptions:


SilverSneakers® – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.


SilverSneakers® – Yoga Stretch

YogaStretch is taught from a seated and standing position to enhance the flow and energy created in combination with restorative breathing exercises. The class offers a variety of safe and effective options designed to increase flexibility and balance to improve each individual’s sense of well being.
