After School and Day Camp Counselor

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervises a group of children.
  2. Implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 18 years of age, and be a High school graduate or GED; one year or more of college preferred.
  2. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a driver record check.
  3. Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp or school setting preferred.
  4. Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
  5. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
  6. Must submit to and expect to pass a licensing finger print background check.
  7. Must possess within 30 days of hire CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  8. Child Abuse Prevention, and Food Handlers training within 30 days of hire date.
  9. Food Handlers Card must be provided at the time of hire.
  10. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a driver record check.

Birthday Party Host

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Branch Director or Program Coordinator and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the incumbent will execute all birthday party programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the set-up and tear down of room and/or reset room for next party.
  • Be available to participants, guests and members for questions, comments and concerns.
  • Aid parents in the carrying of presents, cakes, etc and all party supplies, when needed.
  • Give assistance to parents in the party room as needed and respond to parents’ specific needs and requests.
  • Upkeep and cleaning of party room, tables, chairs, floors etc.
  • Risk management maintenance of the party room, including locking of the doors.
  • Be available to membership for questions, comments and concerns.
  • May work at any location and adjust your schedule as to the needs of the association.

 Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist the Kitchen Manager with estimating needs, receiving; and storing food and supplies.
  2. Cook; trim; portion, carve, bake-etc. Portion meats, vegetables, salads, breads, deserts, etc.
  3. Prepare foods by performing any combination of the following tasks:
    1. Wash, peel, etc. vegetables
    2. Prepare poultry and meats
    3. Stir and strain soups and vegetables
    4. Weigh and measure foods
    5. Carry pots, pans, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal.  May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities.

  1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment.  May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
  2. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  3. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
  4. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  5. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.

E-Sports Attendant

The E Sports Attendant is primarily responsible for supervising youth and teens ages 8 years to 17 years during open play hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  2. Set-up and clean-up of E sports lounge including sanitizing equipment after each use.

  4. Ensures all guests are properly checked in and out.
  5. Hosts esports lounge rentals and monitors the safety of the children.
  6. Assists event participants with check in and ensures guests are satisfied with their visit.

  8. Responds quickly, efficiently, and professionally to any emergency situations; responsible for completing necessary paperwork and notifying the appropriate professional staff member.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and implements the daily curriculum for children in the classroom. Oversees and coordinates the children’s personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance. Maintains classroom records and developmental checklist. Ensures that classroom and other play areas are consistently clean and safe. Informs parents of their children’s progress daily. Supervises and directs activities of assistant teacher assigned to the classroom. Keeps the Director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.

  8. Supervises specific classroom’s assistant teacher in all aspects of their position; mentors assistant teacher to develop the required skills and expertise needed to ensure classroom curriculum is implemented and an appropriate classroom environment is maintained.
  9. Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules.
  10. Observes, records, and reports to director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided. 
  11. Actively participates in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of our educational and meal programs. The Administrative Assistant supports program compliance, communication, documentation, and provides assistance to Directors and Teachers as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Communication & Front Office Support
    • Answer phone calls professionally and direct inquiries appropriately.

  • Meal Program Management
    • Print and distribute weekly attendance sheets for preschool and afterschool programs.
    • Enter new participants into the Nutriservice system and email necessary forms.
    • Enter and scan meal receipts and attach to the Nutriservice system.
    • Collect all weekly meal attendance sheets and input data into Nutriservice.
    • Conduct monthly audits to ensure food forms are in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
    • Complete and submit monthly meal claims accurately and timely.
  • Purchasing & Financial Documentation
    • Code receipts to appropriate Purchase Orders and submit copies to accounting.
    • Prepare deposits, complete close-outs on Dasko, and forward documentation to Accounting.
  • Program & Compliance Support
    • Maintain and organize filing systems for easy document retrieval and ensure Child Care Licensing compliance of all children in attendance.
    • Ensure all immunization records are compliant with state health regulations.
    • Assist Directors with program registration and monthly collections from families.
    • Support Teachers with general administrative tasks as needed.
