Preschool
In the YMCA Early Childhood and Youth Education Program, we strive to meet the developmental needs of each individual child by working in partnership with their families. All early care locations follow the Creative Curriculum to ensure that our children are ready for school. Creative Curriculum provides the most innovative and effective curriculum, assessment, professional development, and family connection resources to programs serving children from birth through kindergarten.
The goal of early childhood development programs is for children to be well prepared to enter school. Our programs are licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Child Care.

Our major objective at the YMCA is to strengthen and support family life. Our educational programs are an ideal way to accomplish this objective. However, all those involved must play a role in the process of care and development if it is to succeed. Parents, care-givers, children, and other family members all play an important and vital role in caring for and facilitating the development of children and in strengthening and supporting the family.
Childhood is a time of exciting discovery. That’s why at YMCA Early Childhood and Youth Education Services, we carefully design every activity to expand their imaginations and encourage lifelong, positive values. YMCA Education Services is divided into specific, age-appropriate programs that provide your children with high-quality and enjoyable experiences. The YMCA’s 4 core values of honesty, responsibility, caring and respect are integrated into each of our programs.
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks are provided in conjunction with the non-profit USDA food program, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Multi-child and/or Full Family Membership discounts are available; please speak with office staff to see if you qualify. Wichita Falls YMCA Early Childhood and Youth Education Services are licensed by the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS).

TEXAS SCHOOL READY! PROJECT SITES
Welcome to Texas School Ready!™
The Children’s Learning Institute implements the Texas School Ready! project as an early education approach that serves at-risk preschool-aged children through shared resources between public and private early childhood education programs. The design of Texas School Ready! increases children’s school readiness through five evidence-driven components: research-based curriculum, technology-driven child progress monitoring, facilitated teacher professional development, ongoing teacher mentoring, and sustainability.
Now in its eighth year, Texas School Ready! has increased from serving 110 classrooms and 2,140 children in its first year to serving more than 1,800 classrooms and about 41,000 children in the 2009-2010 school year. Evidence from early childhood education professionals who implement Texas School Ready! in their classrooms reveals that young children most at-risk are better prepared to succeed in kindergarten.
All of our preschool classrooms at each YMCA facilities are Texas School Ready! project classrooms.
