YMCA Chaplaincy Program Mission
To demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed
Caring: to demonstrate a sincere concern for others, for their needs and well-being. Related values: compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and kindness.
Honesty: to tell the truth, to demonstrate reliability and trustworthiness through actions that are in keeping with my stated positions and beliefs. Related values: integrity and fairness.
Respect: to treat others as I would want them to treat me, to value the worth of every person, including myself. Related values: acceptance, empathy, self-respect and tolerance.
Responsibility: to do what is right–what I ought to do, to be accountable for my choices of behavior and actions and my promises. Related values: commitment, courage, good health, service and citizenship.

Today’s Mission Statement
Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
The mission of the Chaplaincy Services of the Wichita Falls YMCA is to make Christ and His values evident in the culture of our YMCA and the communities in which we serve and is as meaningful and relevant today as it was in our inception in 1844.
It is the Chaplain’s responsibility to lead the organization:
*To an understanding of what constitutes our association’s Christian principles,
*To an awareness about how our organization can make Christian principles practical in our provision of programs and services,
*To a place where programs and services engage members, volunteers, and staff in the pursuit of healthy spirit, mind and body for all, and,
*To the teaching, modeling and philosophy of servant leadership.
The Chaplaincy of the YMCA of Wichita Falls is a dynamic and proactive ministry whose purpose is to build a spiritual and pastoral care presence in the YMCA so as to respond to the spiritual needs of our members, volunteers and staff.
The Chaplain is available for spiritual support, pastoral care, and moral guidance for the expressed purpose of development and promotion of spiritual growth.
The Chaplain is also available for mentoring (Life Coaching) on a requested and referred basis.
The Chaplain will be leading devotional sessions, teaching sessions, Bible study and prayer ministry organizationally wide.
