Volunteer coaches, umpires and referees are needed for Youth Sports throughout the year. Sports vary by time of year and include basketball, baseball, and indoor soccer.

Advisory Board

The Wichita Falls YMCA operates with a volunteer advisory board at each of its four branches that assists with strategic planning, policy and vision for our Association. Board leadership is imperative for continued success of the YMCA.

The Wichita Falls YMCA underwrites an average of more than $55,000 per month in youth scholarships for sports and child care programs.  Underwriting of these scholarships totaled over $680,000 in 2009.

The YMCA’s Partners With Youth Campaign helps to provide a wide range of programs and activities for families who cannot afford the cost of programs. These include child care, after school activities, youth sports, swimming lessons, skill classes and other programs designed especially for young people.

Volunteers work in teams to build awareness and encourage financial participation through face-to face calls with friends, colleagues and other community contacts. This is a great way for your volunteer involvement to make a difference in our community.
